In recent years, reducing carbon footprint has become a shared global priority. World Cargo, our parent company, has chosen to address this challenge with a broader approach, combining environmental impact with social responsibility.
Since 2021, we have partnered with Treedom to develop the World Cargo Forest, a reforestation project that has evolved over time to also embrace an increasingly relevant topic: food security.
In 2025, the forest expanded with new plantings — coffee trees in Guatemala (Doña Lucero project), mastic trees in Sicily, and mango and cashew trees in Madagascar — reflecting a vision that combines crops with strong social and economic value with fruit trees that contribute not only to CO₂ absorption, but also to food production and the support of local communities.
To date, the project contributes to the absorption of 215,450 kg of CO₂.
Addressing sustainability today means going beyond carbon offsetting alone, and including broader themes such as community resilience and access to resources.
The World Cargo Forest is built on this awareness.
Another step in In World Cargo’s continuous effort to offset its carbon footprint. Effective January 2024, World Cargo has successfully transitioned to being powered by 100% green energy, achieved through a collaborative partnership with REpower.
This strategic shift towards green energy underscores our commitment to fostering a cleaner and greener future. By embracing renewable energy sources, we are taking proactive steps to mitigate environmental impact and contribute positively to global sustainability efforts.
Our collaboration with REpower represents a pivotal moment in our sustainability journey. This initiative reflects our dedication to making tangible, impactful changes towards a sustainable world. Each small yet meaningful change we implement underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility.
The relamping project at World Cargo represents a significant commitment to environmental sustainability. We have recently completed the replacement of 77 neon ceiling lights in the offces and 35 in the warehouse with LED bulbs, thus significantly reducing our energy consumption. According to Repower, leading energy company that specializes in providing renewable energy solutions and our partner in the project, we will be saving every year approximately 14,796 kW. This initiative aims to preserve the environment and reduce our carbon footprint. We remain committed to a greener and more sustainable future!
For many years World Cargo and World Pet and Animal Transport have used the Holiday Season as an opportunity to help others. Every Panettone, the typical Italian Christmas cake, we give our employees and clients is produced by Pasticceria Giotto of the Padova Prison, helping the inmates to restore their dignity. Furthermore part of the proceeds go to support the Giuseppe and Margherita Coletta Orphanage in Diebougou in Burkina Faso.
It is very difficult to watch the horrible videos from the war in Ukraine on television, on social media and on Telegram and not take action.
We, at World Cargo and World Pet and Animal Transport decided we needed to do something to help the Ukrainian people. We volunteered what we do best: logistics. We offered one of our vans with our driver to deliver essential goods, medical products, clothes and toys to the St Hierarch Leontie Children’s Settlement in Radauti at the border between Romania and Ukraine. A week long trip, originated in Rome, Italy, crossed Slovenia, Hungary, through Romania and onto our destination.
The mission was organized by three NGOs: Gi.Ro Nel Sociale, Margherone Fa Cose Onlus e Sogno nel Cassetto Onlus.
